Janet Burton Seegmiller

Janet Burton Seegmiller is a graduate of the University of Utah who earned her library M.S. from the University of Arizona while serving as the director of Special Collections at Southern Utah University’s Sherratt Library. Janet’s publications include an award-winning biography of a Utah pioneer, The Life Story of Robert Taylor Burton, and the 1998 History of Iron County, Community above Self. She has presented at history and library conferences in Utah, Wyoming, Illinois, and Pennsylvania. While at SUU, she and Ryan Paul collaborated on gathering oral histories, photographs, and park history from hundreds of Utah Parks Company employees, and in 2020 published Singaway, Working and Playing for the Utah Parks Company, 1923-1972.
